A Burgundy & Gold Thanksgiving

A Burgundy & Gold Thanksgiving

This weekend we hosted our first Friendsgiving at our house, and I had so much fun setting the table for the event! Growing up my mom and aunt would always set beautiful tables for Thanksgiving (we alternated between households), and I love how it makes the dinner feel that much more special. Even though it took a little extra time to take out the china, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy a nice table is to create!

Funny story - you might notice that the flatware is reversed. Forks are supposed to go on the left, and knife on the right. I didn't realize that I had made an oops until our guests had already left and we were cleaning up! In a past life I would have been horrified, but you know what? We had a wonderful and fun dinner, and that's all that really matters at the end of the day!

Decor Details:
Burgundy napkins, Our tablecloth was a gift, but similar here

I absolutely love these gold votives, which add so much warmth to the table! I also use them for our advent candles in Christmas, or really any time I want the table to feel a little special! Since my color scheme was gold and burgundy, I also pulled out our gold flatware, and gold chargers to help the lace china really pop (My china is currently on sale!). For this event I used these gold chargers, but oh my gosh I'm majorly obsessing over these gold lace chargers too!

Call me old school, but I love everything about crystal. I love the look of it of course, but I also love the weight of it! For our dinner I used our Waterford wine glasses and vase. We definitely don't use our china and crystal every day, but it really elevates the table, and transforms a dinner into an event.

I hope everyone has fun planning fun and festive Thanksgivings over the next week!

Charlotte's Swan Soirée

Charlotte's Swan Soirée

Today my sweet baby Charlotte is a year old. Maybe if I re-read that line about 100 more times it will actually sink in. This has been such a challenging, sleep-deprived year - and also the most special, love-filled year of my life so far. Charlotte is such an amazing blessing, and it's hard to remember life before she was here, even though it was only a year ago!

We held Charlotte's birthday party this past Saturday, and it turned out so great! I love any excuse to gather our family and friends together. It was so touching to see people take time away from their busy schedules to celebrate our little girl.

A Casual Easter Brunch at Home

A Casual Easter Brunch at Home

easter brunch table

Easter is on the early side this year (April 1), and it's totally throwing me off. I feel like it was just Valentine's Day!

I love setting a nice table, whether it's for a special holiday or to celebrate the rare occasion that I make my family dinner without the crock pot (anyone else? anyone??). We're heading to my parents' for Easter dinner, so this year I decided to do a casual Easter brunch at our house.

Charlotte's Nursery

Charlotte's Nursery

Ok y'all, I am JUST now sharing pictures of Charlotte's nursery. I know, I know, she's 9.5 months old and it's hardly a "reveal" at this point. Oh well, you win some you lose some!

At the beginning of my pregnancy I said that I wanted a neutral nursery, regardless of gender. Well, that all went zooming out the window the minute I found out we were having a girl. Suddenly I was searching for everything pink and floral I could get my hands on!

I loved putting together this special space for Charlotte. I wanted it to be warm, cozy and feminine, but also didn't want it to feel overwhelmingly "pink".

baby girl nursery crib

This crib is from Pottery Barn, and I like how simple it is. The nursery furniture trend right now seems to be dark wood, but I opted for white because I wanted the space to be classic and bright. Unfortunately this crib isn't available anymore, but I also love this option. To be quite honest I love pretty much anything Pottery Barn puts out!
